Alma Katherine Ciafardini

Alma Katherine Ciafardini, age 93, formerly of Newport, KY, passed on to eternal life Friday, October 20, 2017 at her residence at The Barrington, a caring residential community in Ft. Thomas, KY. She was the second of eight children born on January 28, 1924 to Andrew and Rosina (Steffen) Wolfzorn.

God blessed her 58 year marriage to Patrick "Pat" J. Ciafardini (deceased November 9, 2005) with seven children to which she was a devoted mother, Anthony "Tony" (Kathy), Patricia (Fred) Terwilliger, Pamela (Rick) Casebolt, Bernard, Monica, Philip (Mary), Rosina (David) Haas; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Leo, sister-in-laws and many nieces and nephews. She left her prayerful life of love and caring for all around her as a legacy for her family to follow. Alma's true vocation was that of a wife and mother.

In addition to caring for her family, as well as extended family, she devoted many hours to the Altar Society and Mother's Club at St. Vincent de Paul church, Newport and St. Therese church, Southgate where she was a member. Alma's final journey with us began Memorial Day 2017. A successful colon operation gave her five more months to spend with her family and friends. During this time she witnessed the birth of her seventh great-grandchild and marriage of another grandson. She had time to say her final good bye to her family and those who cared for her during this time.

While it's always hard to say good bye her family will always treasure the family traditions and celebrations she and Pat created over the years. Their family recipes, both German and Italian, are still being shared with new generations- always bringing a smile and a story for everyone to enjoy. The Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, October 25th at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Ft. Thomas, KY. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 26th at St. Therese Church, Southgate, KY with the burial to follow at St. Stephen Cemetery, Ft. Thomas, KY. Memorials may be made to St. Therese Church, 11 Temple Pl., Southgate, KY 41071; Newport Central Catholic High School, 13 Carothers Rd., Newport, KY 41071or St. Anne Convent, 1000 St. Anne Dr., Melbourne, KY 41059
