Betty Lee Daniels

 

Betty Lee Daniels, nee Maddox, 93, of Ft. Thomas, passed away on January 1, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Ft. Thomas, KY. She was a retired hostess with the NKU Alumni Reception Center.

Mrs. Daniels graduated with a BS degree from Western College in Oxford, OH, She served as the past president of the Western College Alumni Association, the Campbell County Public Libraries, the Kentucky Libraries Trustees, the Friends of Kentucky Libraries, and the Garden Club of Ft. Thomas.

Mrs. Daniels served on many boards including the Kentucky Library Network Inc., the St. Luke Community Foundation, the Health Care Alliance of Greater Cincinnati, and the State Preservation Review. She was the secretary of the Ft. Thomas Heritage League and the co-author of the history book the Newport Bicentennial Commission. Mrs. Daniels received the Outstanding Service to Public Libraries Award, she also won the Outstanding Woman of Northern Kentucky award and was voted the Cincinnati Enquirer Women of the Year.

Mrs. Daniels was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Charles E. Daniels. Mrs. Daniels is survived by her sons, Charles Kent Daniels, and Dan Steele, her daughters, Antoinette Daniels, Sharon Kohrs, and Cathy Faust, 10 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Services for Mrs. Daniels will be held at the convenience of the family.
