o   The February meeting was held at the Wilder City Building.

o   President Steve Battistone opened the meeting by thanking the city of Wilder for the use of their facility and welcoming members and guests.

o   Sixteen Show & Tell presentations were given by society members and included items and stories that had great significance to presenter’s family as well as local history.


Treasurer’s Report

Glen Elsener reported that we have a balance on hand of $8264.69.               


Current Membership

 Jan Lester reported that paid membership currently stands at 215.    



Jan Lester reported that the May issue of the newsletter will be out at the end of April. Articles for this edition should be submitted to her by April 1. This edition will have the 2019 Essay Contest winners.


Veterans Records

Pam Casebolt reported that we currently have 13,608 veteran records in our collection and 25 Veterans of Valor videos.


Email and Correspondence

1.      Family Search added over 23 million free indexed historical records the week of January 21.

2.     The Kentucky Historical Society is looking for judges for National History Day. If interested contact .

3.     Genealogy night at the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) Library, Tuesday night April 16, 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Location is 809 West Main Street, Louisville KY. 40202.

4.     Book signing at the Blue Marble Book Store. Wayne Onkst will be signing his new book, Presidential Visits to Kentucky 1819 – 2017, on Saturday, February 16 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.


History Day

Northern Kentucky History will be held on March 23 from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Erlanger branch of the Kenton County Library. The flyer for the event is being created and will be mailed in late February.


Gifts and Donations  

Richard McCormick reported on gifts and donations received over the last month including the Civil War pension record of John Enzweiler that was donated by Jeanne Greiser.

 Society Publications

1. “A day in Campbell County” Book Project

Steve Battistone reported that the society’s web site will be updated on 2/15 to allow people to register for the upcoming “A day in Campbell County” book project and to upload photos.

The kick-off meeting for the event will take place at the Wilder city building on March 30. April 27 is the day for taking pictures.


2. The Camp Springs book is now finished and available for sale.





1. Evergreen Cemetery-Mike Stull reported that the next meeting of the Friends of Evergreen is scheduled for February 28 at 7:00 PM at the Ft. Thomas Antique Store.
